Policy Address Consultation
The Policy Address outlines the policy agenda of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government for the coming 12 months. Around this time every year, the HKSAR Government launches a consultation exercise to collect public views. This year is no exception. The consultation exercise for the coming Policy Address formally started a few days ago. Apart from broadcasting television announcements to appeal to the public for their views, the Policy Address drafting team and I will meet the media, legislators from all political backgrounds and members of the public to seek their valuable opinions.
Currently, the general public may be preoccupied with the controversy over our constitutional reform and the prolonged illegal occupation of roads for over 30 days. However, the current-term Government cannot just stop working on the four major policy areas, namely housing, poverty, an ageing society and environmental protection. The HKSAR Government will keep up its efforts in tackling these issues in order to improve people's livelihoods and build a better Hong Kong.
I look forward to your views on the coming Policy Address. We are a family. Let us join hands to work for a better tomorrow.
